Lately, I’ve been more intentional about incorporating more foods that give my body the nutrients it needs to function.
These include foods that help fight chronic inflammation in my body.
Inflammation occurs when your immune system detects pathogens or injury to tissue and sends out various white blood cells to fight against foreign bodies.
Chronic inflammation, however, occurs when your body continues to produce an immune response long after, or regardless of, injury or infection. This often produces negative effects, and can be a cause of many health conditions.
While it’s important to manage these conditions under care of a licensed physician, there are also ways we can be proactive with our health.
Diet is important because the foods we eat have a direct impact on our heath and wellness.
I’ve been more purposeful over the last few years with what I nourish my body with and I prioritize listening to its needs.
Keep reading below for yummy anti-inflammatory foods that I incorporate into my diet, and also foods that I try to stay away from.
Don’t get me wrong, I sometimes indulge in a tiramisu/red wine combo, especially when I’m cranky. But moderation is key, here.
My health and wellness decisions became less about body image or dieting and more about sustaining a healthy lifestyle.
I listened to my body. My body feels terrible I consume a considerable amount of fried food or meat. My body feels great when I eat salmon, kale, and berries.
I’ve learned to honor my body so I give it the love and nourishment it deserves.
I encourage you all to just notice, without judgment, your body’s needs— your energy levels, mood, hunger levels, and cravings throughout the day. Honor them and also see what yummy whole foods you can add in.
See how you feel.
